The conceptual core of this composition lies in the relation between variety and consistency.

How do we define "identity" in an unstable and erratic landscape? How can be possible to obtain unity from materials that are not related among them, whose appearance can be incidental, that come from different worlds?

Starting from these questions, the ideas of multiplicity and fragmentation are extended to different compositional layers: sound material, time material (from local rhyth, to time proportions among sections), "formal" material (continuity, discontinuity, fragmentation at different degrees).

Change itself happens in changing ways.

Consequently, the effort done to keep everything together reveals a formal tragedy, where the identity is lost at some point and the piece collapses under its own weight.

Surprisingly, at the end, unity can be created only through this downfall.
